A Scene I Love

The scene where Archer tattoos his bite marks on Keira's neck! It was so sexy and possessive and so much fun to write.

Behind the Book

After my husband and I watched the Netflix docu-series, This is a Robbery, I knew I had to incorporate the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum theft of 1990 into this story given the mob background I already had planned.

The facts mentioned about the robbery in this book are true. Thirteen works of art were stolen on St. Patrick’s Day in 1990. No arrests were made. The thieves dressed as cops, entered the museum, and spent an hour and a half cutting the prized artworks from their frames. Many of the suspects the FBI has investigated belong to the mob (Italian, not Irish as in this book.)

As much as I wish the parts of this book about the recovery of the works was true, sadly, none of the iconic and priceless pieces of art have been found. The empty frames hang in the museum as a reminder of the works that have been missing for over three decades.

The FBI estimates that the contents of the heist are worth about $500 million.

There is still a $10 million reward for their safe return.
